As part of our ongoing support for the Alzheimer's and dementia communities in New Zealand, Public Trust has formed mutual partnership agreements with both Alzheimers New Zealand and Dementia New Zealand.
Support for recently diagnosed patients
We’re able to offer free half-hour consultations for recently diagnosed Alzheimer's and dementia patients to discuss how to protect and manage their interests. This would need to be at an early stage where their doctor considers they have the requisite capacity to give valid instructions.
Our free 30 minute consultations will cover what you need to know and do to protect your legacy, and how Public Trust can help.
This could include:
Writing or updating a will
Setting up an enduring power of attorney
Setting up Personal Assist to help manage financial and property affairs
Establishing a trust
If you’re unsure of your needs, the consultation can also include a more general discussion around estate administration and future planning.
Please note that normal charges will apply after the first half hour. Our consultations need to be at an early stage when the patient’s doctor considers they have the requisite capacity to give valid instructions.
